In the Province of Cavite, there are many cases of homicide have been troubling. When an OFW’s wife and daughter were slain in General Trias, Cavite that was not too long ago. After this, in the same province, there is another tragedy faced by a mother and daughter. In Cavite, this new tragedy adds an extra notch on this month’s tragic losses of the families of OFWs. Recently, inside a house in Mendez, Cavite, the police discovered a dead 42-year-old woman and her seriously injured 18-year-old daughter. As stated by the police, the victim was found nearly naked, which implies that the dead was rap*d.The Senior Inspector Rommel Dimaala said:
“Wala namang sign ng robbery, e. Maayos yung mga gamit nila. Actually nandun pa yung mga gadgets, mga jewelries nila, ‘andun.”In spite of being stabbed 10 times, the daughter survived the difficulty. The wounded daughter was able to determine and recognize the suspect’s clothes. These things were discovered in the suspect’s home found right next to the victims. Dimaala stated that the daughter woke up because of her mother’s yells. He stated:
“Nagising nalang ‘tong anak, nagsisigaw yung kanyang ina at nakita nga nya na nandun yung suspect, hanggang sa inatake na siya ng mga saksak.”
The suspect, Mark Harold Mercado, was arrested by the police with the aid of witnesses. In Dasmariñas, Cavite on December 18, 2017, the perpetrator did not hesitate and confessed his wrongdoing to the Mendez police. Mercado is a family of the dead victim’s husband. The suspect admitted that he was drunk when he did his cruel wrongdoing. Mercade admitted to the ABS CBN,
