Pinoy OFW For Your Information:OFW ID Card or i-Dole Card 5 pick-up locations!

A lot of the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) are delighted to own their i-DOLE or OFW ID. But after entering their Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) valid number and being told to go to the nearest POEA Office for additional verification, their excitement turns into disappointment and dismay when many can't continue their application on DOLE's website.

On December 13, 2017, the Facebook page of POEA posted a news, stating that the OFW ID for awhile is only accessible to Balik-Manggagawa or Returning OFWs. It's because the OFW ID is in its first stage of issuance. Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Chief Silvestre Bello III also explained that there is a restricted issuance of OFW ID in the first implementation due to additional analysis and to ensure the feature of the system.

It is written in the applying procedure that the system will only allow OEC number or exemption number with a validity date from October 20, 2017, onwards. As stated by Bello,
“This is only the first phase of implementation and will cater first to our Balik-Manggagawa until the system is ready for all OFWs. We are doing this to secure the database and for further improvements in the system.”
So it is obvious that Balik-Manggagawa or those OFWs who are vacationing are the first being provided by the system. This is the cause why ID applications of various OFWs around the globe are UNSUCCESSFUL for the time being.

Balik-Manggagawa, or those OFWs who are vacationing on the Philippines, are ordered to log-in to their BM Online accounts to employ their ID, which they can use to avail of travel tax and terminal fee exemptions. The DOLE Chief repeated that the i-DOLE OFW ID is Free and being financed by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). With the beginning stage of implementation, OFWs who were able to obtain their ID application can only pick for five pick-up location such as
POEA - Main in Ortigas, POEA - Cebu, POEA- Davao, POEA-Baguio, and POEA-La Union.
