Pinoy OFW Must Know:Recruitment Agencies Obligations and Responsibility!

To watch the progress and the state of all deployed land-based OFWs, it is the obligation and responsibility of the POEA licensed recruitment agencies. Recruitment agencies should report if any unexpected occurrence occurred towards the OFW within 5 working days or they should give a quarterly report to POEA.

If the agency has expanded at least 100 household workers (HSW), it is also the agencies responsibility to give a welfare counselor/office. The POEA Memorandum Circular No. 3, series of 2016, wrote to all POEA land-based licensed agencies.

The obligation is to Observe and Report to POEA the Important Occurrences Regarding the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).Following to Rule I, Part VIII on Assistance to Overseas Filipino Workers of the Revised POEA Rules and Regulations Governing the Recruitment and Employment of Land-based Filipino Workers of 2016, the following obligations of POEA land-based agencies are hereby restated:
I. Present corresponding quarterly reports and observe the state and conditions of deployed OFWs;

II. Present relevant reports, within five (5) working days from the event of OFW occurrences such as:
a.Death
b.Injury
c.Detention
d.Runaway
e.Missing OFW's
f.Desertion
III. Employ the services of a welfare/office counselor per job site, where at least a hundred (100) household service workers (HSWs) have been expanded; and
IV. Take to POEA’s care about the violations done by the foreign employer/principal.
