Using the I-DOLE, OFW can easily claim their benefits in the Government Institutions such as SSS(Social Security System), HMDF(Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-Ibig Fund), Philhealth(Philippine Health Insurance Corporation). Secretary Belo added that he will work for six months to used I-DOLE as the possibility of using this as a passport of OFWs. As Belo's department look out to this, they are jointly coordinate with the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Justice through Bureau of Investigation to facilitate the procedure in order to them to materialize their plans.
He also said that the said IDs will be issuing based on the inventory of all bonafide OFWs which will be given by the POEA(Philippine Overseas Employment Administration) to coincide the data given by the Department of Labor, afterward, the said IDs will be mailed to the OFWs address. That's why Filipinos don't need to apply their I-DOLE.
Steps on availing I-DOLE: Reminder: I-DOLE is still not available online via DOLE's website you are needed to go the DOLE office near you or go to the main office.
1) Head to the main office of DOLE or go to the DOLE office near your place. You may visit the list of their offices here.
2) Carry 2 or more valid IDs as a confirmation of your identification. Government IDs are certainly considered valid.
3)When you reach the DOLEs office, go to the person-in-charge for your application.
4) Present your OEC as an evidence that you have applied the I-DOLE for the first time
5) Wait as your name will be verified from the database of qualified OFWs based on POEA's listing. 6) Afterwards, of the successful verification, your ID will be printed and be ready for release.
