Josephine slowly walks inside their house because she already knew that her father was there, in their kitchen, reading a magazine. Her father stated,"Alam kong nandyan ka."Josephine, however, fails to make her father shock because he already knew it was her. Josephine was 43-year-old and currently living in America together with her husband and her son. Josephine, however, goes back to the Philippines because the Christmas is coming. Her husband and son will follow her before the Christmas Eve. Meanwhile, her father still treats her his baby girl even though she already aged. She said to her father,
"Pa, pahiram akong barena mo. May bubutasan ako sa dingding ng kwarto ko, isasabit ko yung family picture natin."
His father jokingly answered her,
"Ako na, tsaka nasa basement yung tool box ko dahil matagal na panahon ko nang hindi ginagamit. At baka masira mo ang pader!"
"Marunong ako no, tsaka baka mapano ang kamay mo. Diba nirarayuma na kayo?"Her father, however, just laugh at what she said and shake his head while he was giving the key to the basement to her daughter. Josephine was graduated with the degree of Architect that's why she knows about that because it becomes part of their course. Meanwhile, Josephine almost coughs because of the dust in the basement.
She then finds the toolbox while she was covering her nose. In the past, her father works as a carpenter. After a while, she then finds the toolbox but she was having a hard time to open it because maybe it was used a long time ago. After she opened the toolbox, she sees the hammer, tweezers, and steel saw inside of it. There is also a screwdriver, however, it is not the thing that she notices, but a paper which is fold. She first thinks that it was a receipt. Out of her curiosity, she opened the letter and see that it was a letter that came from her father a month before she delivered.
"November 18, 1975 Ako si Juanito, bulakbol, hindi nakapagtapos ng pag aaral, naging magnanakaw, manloloko ng kapwa, at ngayon ay madadagdagan na sa listahan ng 'batang ama'. Pero simula sa araw na ito, nangangako akong aayusin ko na ang buhay ko para sa maliit na anghel na paparating, mabubuhay ako ng marangal para maipagmalaki niya ako pagdating ng panahon. Bubuhayin ko siya ng buong puso at dignidad, kahit magkandakuba ako sa hirap. Pangako ko ito sa sarili ko. Juanito,"
After reading the letter, Josephine then smiles while she was wiping the tears that fall down from her eyes. She then immediately went to the kitchen where her father was still there, reading magazines. Her father was shocked when he sees that his daughter was bearing a letter. Josephine said then hugged her father tightly,
"Papa, I love you."Her father then whispered to her,
