It is common when the people get old, they should enjoy the life remaining and commonly enjoying the benefits as a senior citizen. In our country, the Philippines there are different benefits received by a senior citizen. The person to be considered as a senior citizen must be 60 years old and a resident of the country. Some of the benefits to be enjoyed by the senior citizens are having a 20% discount and exemption from the Value Added Tax in hospital, transportation, hotels, and restaurants including their burial and funeral services. But in reality, not most of the senior citizen enjoy all these benefits.
Just like this poor old woman, serving like a service crew in one of the leading Fast-food franchise store in Mandaluyong, McDonald's. A responsible citizen identified as John Paolo Labao uploaded a photo and video clip of an old woman cleaning the fast-food chain store that becomes the talk of the town. Based on John Paolos, during the time when they were eating their snacks together with his friends and buddies in JRU Kalentong, City of Mandaluyong. Immediately they witnessed the poor old woman cleaning and arranging the chairs to put on the table. They presumed that the old woman has a child or a grandchild working at the fast-food chain store.
They approached the old woman and asked her why she was cleaning and doing the job. They were amazed and shock because the old woman responded that she is not a service crew in that fast-food chain and she doesn't have any relatives or family members working at the place. She added that she was a victim of fire and she was forced to do the things because she has no shelter or house for her. Also, she doesn't have relatives or family members that will help her. based on the woman's confession, she tried her best to look for a job but unfortunately, no one hired her because of her old age.
The things she does was to seek help to the manager to give her permission to sleep in that place and she will help cleaning the place as in return for their kindness and opportunity to have a shelter.
