Being an Overseas Filipino Workers in the Middle East Country particularly the Household Service Workers encounters mostly struggles and trials with their employers. They are more prone to maltreatment and abuse and can extend to the loss of lives. Unfortunately, another Pinay OFW was found in an unoccupied apartment in Al-Shaab Kuwait. The identification has been validated as a Pinay OFW and has been uncovering. The DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III told that according to the DNA test, the body was identified as Joanna Daniela Dimapilis, 29 years old from the province of Iloilo based on the report of the ABS-CBN reporter.Kuwait Security officials had found the lifeless body of Dimapilis a Household service worker inside a freezer in an unoccupied apartment in the State of Kuwait. The flat was formerly occupied by her Lebanese employer who had left Kuwait last 2016 together with his Syrian wife. The unfortunate Pinay OFW Dimapilis has allegedly suffered maltreatment at the controls of her sponsors. She was physically maltreated, not given a proper food and she was not given her monthly salary.
The finding of another lifeless body of a Pinay OFW creates another argument and discuss whether to prolong the extension of the suspension of deployment of the newly hired OFW's bound to Kuwait or totally banned because of the additional incident discovered. The Department of Labor and Employment has given the warning to the Kuwaiti labor attache to scrutinize on the de*th of OFW"s in the State of Kuwait. The DOLE Sec uncovered that investigation is in progress and they required that the truth shall prevail to know the reason for the de*th cases of the Overseas Filipino Workers.
It was approximately 250,000 Overseas Filipino Workers working in the Gulf countries and there is an increase of the quantity of maltreatment by their employers and sponsors. Although it was known to the Filipinos, still they want to work in the Middle East countries due to the better salaries are given to them.
